Doing the same work on fewer running servers.
I design virtual-machine selection and placement policies that consolidate workloads onto fewer active servers — cutting a data centre's energy draw without breaking its service-level agreements. Eight and a half years of research and teaching across cloud, fog, and edge computing.

Twenty-four virtual machines spread thin across six hosts. Every host draws power whether it is busy or idle.
Research
Energy-aware VM consolidation that holds quality of service — the MECpVms and PbVmSp selection policies weigh energy cost and SLA violation together, not one at the other's expense.
Deciding what belongs near the sensor and what belongs in the cloud — applied to real deployments: an elephant corridor over a railway track, a tiger alarm for endangered wildlife, low-latency identification.
A current direction: bringing quantum simulation and machine learning to bear on scheduling and resource problems.
Securing infrastructure proactively rather than after the breach — the subject of my 2025 authored book and several filed patents.
